@The_Ripper:
Firstly, I installed the new E2 on a USB memory stick [ove 1/2 GB] and plugged it into my Smart Titanium V2, just to test the configuration for DiSEqC v. 1.1.
As I mentioned I have a Toroidal 90cm dish with 16 Twin Smart Titanium LNBs and Centauri 16in1 DiSEqC switch [with only 16 uncommitted switch parameters to set/change, all else should remain unchanged, the only change being the uncommitted "switches" 1 - 16].
{Interesting. The Smart Titanium V2 Enigma2 also goes into the green screen when you try to enter A-V settings sub-menu... Only a reboot by the back power-switch worked! And it crashed for any part of the sub-menu, anything I tried doing in there [not only A-V but also Timezone etc.], so I had to drag my fat arse from the sofa all the bloody time to restart the darn thing from the back... You should give those "clever dick programmers on the cheap" a few lessons in how to get over the initial obstacles, you know...

}
Sure, I easily set the DiSEqC 1.1 [first 5 out of 16 sats]. Basically I only changed
LNB [1 - 5],
DiSEqC mode [1.1]
Fast DiSEqC [yes]
Command order [uncommitted, committed, toneburst] and
Uncommitted DiSEqC command [1 - 5],
then press OK.
Satfinder showed the signal in the "Predefined transponder" mode immediately. A scan of Astra 1 came up with hundreds of channels.
The receiver opened the FTA channels easily, even though I had bad weather here, in Scandinavia to contend with...
So, I now turned to AZbox HD and E2, to be able to compare...
1) E2 on USB memory stick --> into AZ --> switch AZ on at the back --> Format... --> USB --> E2 --> OK... wait. It rebooted itself.
2) Started AZUp application on PC, put in the AZbug HD IP address [add to the field with red numbers], then clicked on Update button on AZUp.
3) A messages on PC appeared: "Remove USB stick and reboot". Removed the USB stick and waited a bit... Closed the little message window on PC and AZUp. First the LED says "Geeko :P" and then VFD ready. Some numbers on AZbug HD LED, plus a couple of cogs moving on your TV screen. When you see 100 - it's done.
4) Press the MENU [not HOME] button on your remote, go to MENU [on your remote] -->
Setup --> Service Searching --> Tuner configuration --> advanced -->
set up LNB 1 - 5 for the first 5 sats
DiSEqC mode to 1.1
Committed DiSEqC command to None
Fast DiSEqC to Yes
Command order to Uncomm., comm., toneb.
Uncommitted DiSEqC command to 1 - 5.
Satfinder showed no "Lock" luck for me...
5) Scanned Astra 1 on 19'E --> nada, zilch, njichevo, zip, ni mrc...
So, the same settings as Smart Titanium V2 with E2 on a USB stick. But no results.
6) Start FileZilla Client and put in your
-IP address [192.168.x.x], then
-root, then
-azbox,
-port 21 and
-hit Quickconnect button.
7) Went to /lib/modules/2.6.22.19-19-the_ripper/extra/ --> delete the em8634dvb.ko file.
7a) Put the new one to the same library, from DVB Driver package on my PC.
7b) In the same package there is a bootup file, too. Replaced the old one from /etc/init.d.
7c) Rebooted, holding the red power button on the remote for some 4-5 seconds.
"geeko :P" --> I had to re-do E2 from the USB memory stick. But replacing the just the file I mentioned in step 7. I haven't rebooted from the back but restarted the machine via remote. When it started I got the boat...
Scanned a single transponder --> YES!!!! Various $ l y channels found!!!
Scanning a single satellite --> NIT "on", not just the FTA channels --> NOTHING! Even when FTA is "yes". Weird and frustrating!
I went again for a single transponder and it couldn't find anything apart from the channels mentioned. But then a worrying thing happened! While scanning this service I put in the wrong data and it found the channels again:
Astra 1H (19.2E) - 11836.50 H - Txp:
71 - Beam:
Astra 1HDVB-S (QPSK) - 27500 3/4. I put 2/3 by mistake. When I repeated with the correct data - AZbug HD couldn't find anything! When I put it to Auto - it found them again. Really silly...
Could this have anything to do with bad programming on the part of DMM engineers? Remember the infamous "Tuner failed" message? Well, as you asked, I would urge you to take a good look at that driver, controlling the tuner scanning, indeed!!!
Because it wouldn't find anything on HB either. Then, I put in the HRT transponder details. As above, if I put the FEC correctly - nothing! If I put it to Auto - it found 30 channels! But I only found 11 TV channels! And no HRT!!! Well... that's not on, clearly! Something is wrong in there, guys! I have no idea what exactly but...
8) Then I did the same as in steps 7 - 7c but this time from the file named em8634dvb.rar published on 4th October 2010.
No reboot at the back of the receiver. Restart via remote!
The image! But very weak... Pixilated, coming and going... Hmmm... [WTF?!? The weather conditions or...???]
9) Couldn't send a settings list to AZbug HD... Dunno why...
Plus, everything was slugish, when trying to watch...
Tired. Dead tired. It's 4.44 am and I have to get up around 7... Jeez... Enough for one night...
================================================
Btw, I placed Damir's enigma2-plugin-dd-webif-grab_0.1_mipsel.ipk in
-->
/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/WebInterface folder of your AZbug with E2... Didn't do anything, I am sorry to say. I couldn't install it. Even from /tmp folder...
=================================================
My recommendation: make a complete package, so no file is missing, even the remote and Damir's gadgets... You'd get consistent results.
