Superbly cool development!!!
A few questions/observations, Morser:
1) Everything freezes/blocks on CSAT [achhh, them silly Frenchies, always "different, always creating trouble... :D] -> just a no-go, sadly...
2) Rytec is a no show, too... Nova, EX-YU etc. Even more sadly...
3) Also, clear instructions how to edit the time and place to download, as well as how many days, would be good.
For instance, I would send it to my USB memory stick, at around 4.51 AM and try to get a 7 day EPG, once a week... Is it possible, please?
4) Oh, yeah, should it be possible to start it by remote: HOME -> PLUG-INS -> PanelKGD -> because the way it is at my end [using the official 4890 FW now] is "...no executable file, error..." ?
5) If there were errors and I reboot does one lose all the data or...???

me conetesto yo lo que hace es dejarlo en sttanby el deco y otra cosa para el EPG en mayusculas donde aqui que pner la A yo he ecjecutado el script quitando la L y poniendo la A y me gargado en mayusculas pero le puesto otra vez la L al script para que si reincio me carge todo otra vez pero como le digo al daemonEPG que le diga al getepg que lo carge en mayusculas???? o ya lo hace siempre una vez echo

Hmmm... CHMOD -> 755 for PanelKGD and epg folder didn't hold. Had to redo it.
Still -> Error, no exec file, reinstall the plugin" message, when I try to start the plugin via remote -> Plugins -> PanelKGD...
My PM 1.8 seems to have problems loading or remounting SWAP file after a reboot, so without it it's impossible... Must test a few more times...

cada vez que carge el epg lo hara en mayusculas.
por cierto no te apaga el deco , la idea es que te te lo deje en el estado en el que lo encuentre si lo tenias en standbye lo enciende para la carga del epg y despues lo deja de nuevo en standbye.
pero si esta en marcha lo dejara en marcha una vez acabado de cargar epg.

Yo, con la versión anterior de getepg y el firmware oficial (no kgd), conseguàpoder cargar la epg usando el mando a distancia (sin tener que hacerlo por telnet), aunque usando un truco muy feo...
Mañana instalaré la versión 2.0, y si interesa subiré mi versión modificada.

La teoria es que no es necesario ejecutar desde telnet mas que una primera vez, despues al reiniciar en el script de star.d le podemos decir que carge el EPG (que tenemos en memoria) y arranque el daemon para que se auto ejecute a las 5:00.

But it's as I described... CSAT blocks the search/download. It's frozen there! Meaning, I was observing in Telnet...
Here is a bit at the end:

Enough memory [SWAP file]?
Sometimes I must redo it a few times to make it go through all the ones I want it to download...
But it doesn't work on a few, like CSAT, Nova, EX-YU and more...
It DOES work on a top version for $ l y, though...
Haven't tried the Rytec for it, mind...
