British TV!

I have created a program that lets you watch 44 British TV channels!

It works on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. You must have

VLC

installed to the default location for your platform in order for it to work.

Mac OS X
Download

. Copy the VLC program to "/Applications". Then double-click to open the British TV program.

Linux
You need to install VLC however you normally install packages for your distribution of Linux. Regular Linux users should already be familiar with this procedure, so I won't go into detail here. After installing VLC, open a Terminal window, and drag the British TV program to that window. Press enter.

Note: You must run the Linux version inside a terminal.

Gledajte Britansku terestrijalnu TV na racunalima, preko VLC Playera [besplatan!]./Watch 44 British TV stations on VLC player ...includes the main terrestrial TV channels...

...kada instalirate VLC, pokrenite ovaj programcic, pa ukucajte broj kanala koji zelite gledati i udarite ENTER na tastaturi./...make sure vlc is installed, open prog, type number of channel req. then hit return. It should open up VLC and start the channel.VLC media player can record the tv channel you are watching./Mozete ih i snimati preko VLC playera!

Select 'view' on the taskbar, enable 'advanced controls' and a record button should appear. Press the button and it records! Easy as./Idite na view i dalje kako je iznad objasnjeno -> advanced controls -> record -> stisnite na nj i eto ga...

Some channels are MMS [see Tools -> Preferences -> Show Setings -> All -> Input/Codecs -> Access Modules -> MMS -> mess with your settings a bit... stop the other net traffic, wait a bit longer for buffering.../Neki MMS kanali traze dobru vezu i strpljenja [BBC3 i 4, ITV 2 - 4 i sl.] - PAZNJA, da ne izgubite zivce na losim vezama... to onda nece ici...

Q. The video buffers to 100%, plays for a couple of seconds, and then stops and picture freezes.
A. If you are running a Antivirus and Firewall, please allow VLC and British TV.exe. If this does not help, try increasing the cache (Preferences -> All -> Input/Codecs => Access Modules => MMS). If that doesn't help, you can try to copy and paste the URL into a different media player. If that doesn't help, you may need to upgrade your Internet connection to a higher speed.

Q. Channels won't buffer or start.
A. The sever that host the channels is probably undergoing maintenance, is down, or the URLs have changed. This has nothing to do with the British TV program, VLC, or someperson. Please email someperson with a list of non-working channels so that he may provide an update if necessary.
He does keep up with the developments and updates the program, which is in the top post, at the start of the thread there.

To the people having trouble watching the MMS streams:

Unfortunately, there's absolutely nothing at all I can do to help. I don't even know who runs these streams, so I cannot contact them about it either.

There is no need to keep posting requests for help with the freezing problem. All I can suggest is that you upgrade your Internet service to a higher speed.

Important! @ All who report problems with most channels:

You must clearly understand that you are getting them… in the form they are available, till they are available, when they are available; and the people who stream them, people which are NOT private individuals, are not interested to provide them for everybody, but they are providing them… for ‘certain’ purposes, usually only to ‘some’ customers.

And they are changing the streams as often as they (not… anybody else) think it is necessary, EVEN DAILY, so please STOP asking for what you did not even would be allowed to have...

The only thing that Someperson can do... is to -from time to time-… update the streams in his application.

And even if he had known who is streaming them… he could not ask them for anything regarding the channels, because his requests would not be approved.

For those with freezing problems:

Reinstall your System, and see that you install Non-conflicting programs; also, get some good cleaning programs, as I have exemplified on this thread before, and use them to clean your System every 2 or 3 hours...

And get an Internet subscription of at least 10 MegaBits for Download, and from a provider with good International peerings!!

Don't believe, every time, your Internet provider, if they ALWAYS claim your 2-3-4-5 ... 10 ... 15 MegaBits connection is a good one, because if they have crappy International peerings, you should change the I.S.P. altogether.

Even I, which have 30+ Megabits, Internationally, I get a few freezings, from time to time. But this is rare.

Otherwise, you must be pleased with what the International connections can allow through -to you.

Update just released. All channels are working again! It should also no longer be affected by server changes.

Pues si que funciona, pero diría que la calidad de imagen es un poco mala.

Hola, gracias por este programa. La calidad es bastante aceptable y depende de la banda ancha y del procesador del pc. Esperemos que se pueda abrir a mas canales, es un gran adelanto, así que ánimo y adelante.

Hola, es muy sencillo:
Descarga la última version de VLC, que tienes arriba
Descarga el programa que también tienes indicado y elige el sistema operativo de tu pc
Ejecuta el programa y elige uno de los 44 canales británicos que te ofrece
Y espera a que se cargue y ya está, muy sencillo (enpieza por el 1 que es el más rápido)
Debes tener un ancho de banda aceptable y el pc pues que sea moderno.
Con este sistema te evitas tener una parabólica orientada a Astra 2AB. Si esto funciona pues entiendo que se podrán hacer nuevos parámetros y conseguir otros satélites y canales,. Ya hay otro que sintoniza unos rusos.
