Thanks to the team colleague joseba and the_ripper, drivers are there, for DVB-T and DVB-C Tuners used in Elite/Premium/Premium+

For now, You cant ask and expect from us that DVB-T and DVB-C are fixed, as we have to finish more important things, with which You will be informed soon, and even be able to test ( I hope soon ).

I propose that everybody calm down feelings and take it easy... We are also humans, and i think problem now is that some of users expect every day release.

Be little more patient, as big changes are comming That is all what I can tell now.

Btw, here is what FME fta said on Satpimps:

As have already being said, OpenSat is working on a new firmware, they are not giving up on azbox, on the contrary.

OpenSat could not fix any more the official firmware made by Celrun, because it was unfixable, it was bad coded, they could not improve something without breaking another.

Because instead of a typical code divided in procedures/functions, they (celrun) used pointers to point to other code stack, obviously when the code changes, so does the addresses where the pointer points and that causes thing to stop working.

I don't know when this new firmware will come out, probably when its ready.

So yes, you can also say that they use this E2 firmware attention from their costumers, so they can focus 100% on the new firmware and not in the celrun's firmware.

Also, if you guys think that E2 was possible in this short time without the help of OpenSat, you guys are dead wrong.

That "geeko" message in the VFD is not a coincidence, it was the main coder from OpenSat that did it, so yes they are indirectly involved in this E2 firmware.
There is also many more private information that I do know and won't reveal.

The good thing about all this development {E2, Neutrino, new official FW coming from Opensat, allegedly] is, we will need Uboot, so we can have the Multiboot option.

I.e. Uboot [universal boot] enables us to have, for instance, original FW in the flash [in the receiver], plus at least another OS in a USB memory stick or even more of them:ojazo:, either in a USB stick or built-in or external HDD...:desmayo:

En el ultimo post, copia un mensaje escrito por FME donde a grosso modo dice que Opensat a dejado de trabajar en el firmware que estabamos usando hasta ahora porque celrun (el diseñador) no ha conseguido solucionar los problemas de diseño que tiene el software.

Añade que Opensat no se da por vencido y esta trabajando en un nuevo firmware.

Por otro lado comenta, que Opensat esta involucrada en Enigma2 ya que sin informacion concreta seria imposible adaptar algunas cosas y menos en tan poco tiempo

Te lo resumo:

Opensat esta trabajando en un nuevo Firmware diferente al que ahora conoces ya que ellos tenian la base de Celrun que era otro aparato del mercado pero que estaba muy mal desarrollado y por lo tanto Opensat no tiene manera de poder repararlo, cuando arregla algo se carga otra cosa y asi lleva mas de un año con las betas, por lo tanto empiezan desde 0 o casi desde 0 para realizar otro Firmware.

Luego se indica que si la gente se piensa que el firmware de E2 que esta programando el team no tiene ayuda de opensat que se equivocan que estos de manera indirecta y muchas veces directas le están dando información necesaria para que puedan seguir trabajando y lo terminen rápido.

Gorski luego comenta que como ahora se tendrán tantos Firmware el oficial, el de Enigma2, el de Neutrino que es otro pues es necesario tener la herramienta de Uboot que lo que hace es que te permite instalar varios Firmwares en un USB, o en el disco interior del deco o en la memoria Dom y tu puedas elegir con cual quieres arrancar el receptor.

Si quieres un consejo no hagas nada hasta que estee funcionando el multiboot y haya un par de imagenes minimamente funcionales.

This is from MickeySa, re. my post earlier, on another forum [my translation], correcting me regarding the Uboot in AZbox HD but confirming the general idea:

SMP8634LF chip in this line of AzBox HD devices doesn't use Uboot x.x but Yamon, which doesn't allow a direct boot from a USB device. The kernel is starting directly from Flash.

However, some users have already explained how they started the Enigma 2 from a USB stick, even though DOM has an official FW, with the corresponding official FW kernel.

Enigma 2 uses another kernel, 2.6.22-19, which has to be started via load -b tftp:// or as is explained in the tutorial.

Newer generations of Sigma processors does support booting from a USB device.

Be that as it may, I think multi-boot will be made possible.

Enigma 2 is the priority in every respect, although joseba already demonstrated that Neutrino HD works really well on AzBox HD Receivers, with minimal adjustments and, of course, MIPS architecture recompiling, seeing how it's made for Coolstream receivers, powered by ARM CPU and unofficially on Kathrein receivers, powered by ST710x CPU or SH40 family of processors.

El tema del multiboot puede ser interesante para ir haciendo testeos de firmwares. Como opción, sería siempre bienvenida, aunque personalmente cuando ek E2 funcione al 98% será lo único que tenga instalado.

Leyendo en otros foros, parece que el lanzamiento de una versión más funcional es inminente, aunque no se dan lógicamente fechas concretas. Lo único que parece claro es que será antes de las navidades indicando que el desarrollo va a una velocidad realmente rápida.

Estaremos atentos a las novedades en las próximas semanas.
