I need to know how to make it easier and much faster, when reinstalling everything, when it comes to my tuner configuration...

Anyone knows which file is for tuner config, so I don't have to do it all from scratch every time, please...?

It's tedious and it puts me off, as I have 16 Twin LNBs and 19 satellite positions...

Murders my desire to experiment sometimes...

Just not enough time...

Family commitments...

I have the same request. It's tedious configure 6 satellites with diseq 1.2 function.

Yo tengo la misma petición. Es costoso configurar 6 satélites con diseq1.2

Forget what i told you before. I think that it is in this file:
/etc/enigma2/settings
This file contains the settings of the sats.
And if you want to make a full backup just copy all the content of this folder:
/etc/enigma2

Regards

Olvidar lo que he dicho antes. Creo que esta en este archivo:
/etc/enigma2/settings

Cool! :) Didn't have the time to go through all of those! Appreciated!!!B)

Manolito, m8, now that they claim CIFS is working - can you have a look at fstab again, please?

I don't have the model by which to edit it - to add all the details correctly...

It'd be cool to kick the Mount Manager out and do the fstab thingy...

Much obliged in advance!B)

One more thing: one can do a full BACKUP now, inside the E2 newest GIT image, non?

Anyone tried it? I did, a long time ago, with DBox2 and it worked. The full image!

How about our box?

@sergiri.

@gorski. I don't know if cifs was included in one of the new releases. Right now I have 1.2 rti.

Yo usando el NetworkBrowser que trae el GIT del día 20/08/11 he montado unidades en red por CIFS sin problemas.

Indeed, other told me so but I am having problems with it. It sees my laptop but can't see inside it, as it were...

I allowed AZbox specifically, added the sharing folders without password protecting them and still...

Dunno why... Hopefully fstab editing will do the trick, if it is possible with kernel CIFS support?

Btw, when it comes to putting in the path - what do you do?

It has 2 points to direct E2 to the folder. My shared folders are not on C partition but on D. So, I use the first one for the name of the D partition and the other one for the name of shared folder.

Like: DATA/VIDEO

So I have:

enable
laptop's name (in CAPS, as it is)
CIFS share
[and here is the Server share) /export/hdd - I put: DATA/VIDEO (but is that the correct way of doing it, I wonder? Even if I put the name of the laptop and VIDEO - nada... If I put just VIDEO - nada... In MountView I get that CIFS share is active but it can not open it, it can not "see inside", regardless of how I put the path together...)
no
rw
username
password

May I say that in NFS I do the same thing but then it works properly, even if it can only mount one folder, using the plugin!

Thanx to Manolito's help, fstab editing gives me all the shared folders from my NFS NAS... So, maybe he can repeat the magic? ;)

Interesting... Can we see the script and get some details, please?

I know about various commands but not the CIFS format for fstab. That (the fstab CIFS paradigm) would be great...

Ha, it works but I tried it differently from NFS:

I went to edit one of the mount points:

MountView -> MOUNTS EDITOR:
enable
CIFS share
IP address
Name of the folder only (/VIDEO, in my case, nothing more)
use as HDD replacement - YES
rw
no username (later, when you try to check it or edit it - it appears as "guest")
no password

Also, I removed username and password in USERMANAGER!

OKI, let's try adding another folder on my laptop...

Add new network mount point -> repeat but give a different name of the PC (I added a letter at the end of the name: M for music, f for fotos...)

I still think that fstab is more elegant... ;)

The same applies for NFS protocol, all of those shared folders mounted with Mount Manager plugin: one has to repeat the procedure for EVERY folder and ALL can be mounted, then (even though they will have all the same data, like IP address - but a different name!)!

Me and quite a few people thought that one can only mount one NFS NAS folder at the time but that was incorrect - MountManager can mount just one at the time, if they all have the same name! However, if one gives a different name to each shared NAS folder, it can mount them all (say, NASvid, NASmus and NASphoto and PCvid, PCmus, PCphoto - all with the same data, as mentioned before, for CIFS)...

SUPER-DOOPER! :D

One more thing: all of those "Mount Points" can then be seen in 2 places:

1) Media centre -> choose My Videos (or Music or Pictures) -> here, one is given various options, depending on what one has attached to AZbox HD:

-Internal Flash,
-HDD or
-USB stick and then follow
-all of those shared folders mounted by Mount Manager plugin, from either your NAS or PC/laptop,

but also

2) under: Internal Flash -> media -> net -> they are all there as well...

Andarrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!! :D

Manolito, I still think that fstab solution is more elegant, faster and crucially - it doesn't require any additional plugins! Thus, we save on space and needless complexity of the system, thereby making it more stable, lighter and hence more efficient.

So, if you find the solution, please teach us... ;) Thanx! B)

Temp folder is the one I share in my PC. I execute this script from User Scripts.
