Con lo que la info que teníamos por el Popcorn Hour y demás son antiguas ya que al parecer el AzBox HD viene con la nueva revisión C del chip Sigma.

Para ver lo esto significa esta muy bien la tabla al final de esta página:

Sacado de otro foro sobre el Sony BlueRay que lleva la versión antigua como Popcorn Hour A100:

2. The S300 has the older DSP chip, Sigma SMP8634LF Revision A. This chip with a FW update can decode DD TrueHD. It does not output DD-TrueHD or DTS-HD MA bitstreams. Even if the S300 did have HDMI 1.3 ouputs, it would still be incapable of bitstreaming DD TrueHD or DTS-HD MA. The Sigma SMP8634LF Revision C is the only chip in this series that can bitstream DTS-HD MA. However, the plain Sigma SMP8634LF chip (no Rev #) can bitstream DD TrueHD but not DTS-HD MA. None of these older chips decode DTS-HD MA. IOW, your S300 lacks the DSP processing power to decode or bitstream the DTS-HD MA. You will get the higher bit rate core signal at 1.536 Mbps which is pretty decent sound but still lossy audio.

Con lo que seguramente via HDMI se va a poder pasar DTS-HD y TrueHD si alguna vez se activa el soporte de dispositivos BlueRay USB.

Para ello vamos a necesitar el nuevo driver Sigma con highbitrate (mayor de 20Mbps actuales)... por lo que ha dicho pr2 en satpimps esta parte también esta en camino! En el nuevo firmware no funciona todavía porque estan reescribiendo las partes que lo limitaban, seguramente los módulos estaban capados para no saturar la CPU. Cuando los quiten tendremos high bitrate y BlueRay seguramente.
Al parecer los problemas ethernet con transferencias y demás también pueden ser por el tema de las limitaciones del driver Sigma con bajo bitrate! Osea que igual también mejoramos en transferencias (igual incluso USB?).

Creo que ambas noticias son muy buenas! :thumbsup:

Pues ya me estas poniendo los dientes larggoossssss...
Espero ansioso, el nuevo firmware haber si de una vez puedo reproducir MKV 1080P a traves de la red sin tener problemas en cuanto el bitrate sube un poco....

Con que copiaran un poco esta parte del firm del popcorn ya iria perfecto....

Lo del HDMI 1.3 es una genial noticia para los blu-ray con archivos de sonido en HD..

On a related note, I’ve read a bit of encouraging news from a member of another forum who attended the ANGA trade fair in Germany last week. The AzBox stand was reportedly showing off a pre-recorded 1080i 4:2:2 clip with a bitrate of 38 Mbps, and it seemed to play back smoothly. He could not say for certain whether the model being demoed was an Elite or a Premium -- this is what originally led me to suspect that the Premium might be able to handle high-bitrate material, possibly due to its SATA capability. However, in light of your experiences with the Premium, I think it’s safe to assume that the Opensat folks were using an unreleased firmware that can handle high-bitrate recordings just fine.

Here is the 38 Mbps sample that they were playing successfully:

Para los que no han seguido el hilo... incluso si el HDMI sólo fuese 1.1 si confirmamos que el Sigma SMP8634LF que tenemos en el AzBox es Rev C es capaz el solito de decodificar DD TrueHD y DTS-HD MA!!! Alucinante lo potente que es el chiporro! Decodifica todo!

Por lo que dicen incluso con HDMI 1.1 podemos sacar audio 5.1 PCM directo al receptor! Osea el Sigma hace toda la decodificación y el receptor envía los canales PCM al altavoz. Osea un BlueRay de alta gama...

Update: hay que revisar que el PCM que saca el HDMI sea a 96Khz para el tema de HD audio... el estandar son 48Khz (en SPDIF también pero sólo soporta estereo 2 canales, con HDMI 8 ;-).

Esto parece una montaña rusa, unos dias todo cosas regulares o malas y otros solo buenas, esperemos que al final este el 1.0 con todo al 100%, aunque igual tarda un poco y nos toca armarnos de paciencia.

Pues haber si de una vez, quitan la restricción de red en el proximo firm, que estoy harto de tener que bajar pelis en 720p porque a 1080p me dan problemas, debido a que uso el Disco duro del pc..

Veo que te vino sin pastita, al volver a poner el disipa ponle un poco de actic silver y veras que estara un poco mejor...
lastima que en la placa no haya sitio para poder hacer 2 agujeros y meter un buen disipador pasivo de tarjeta grafica....
