Flash Expander by mechatron

A problem, as I discovered doing the following:

1) going to Packet Management,

2) uninstall Enigma Flash Expander (by simply pressing OK to choose it and confirm "remove"),

3) reboot and then

4) install this package, then

5) reboot and after that go to

6) Plugins and if you try to

7) activate Flash Expander

-> it tells you that it is already running and that it is not possible to activate something that is already active... Even though you unistalled it and rebooted etc. Weird or what?

So, I presume one should manually remove various files and maybe even folders? Darky, can you help with more details, as to how to uninstall it properly, please?

I also noted that CCcam Info wouldn't be there after a reboot, having installed it from Packet Management, as well as some other plugins, too (like CIFS).

P.S. If I go to Media -> USB - nothing there, still...

But to Media Flash Expander -> usr file is there!

Should it be like that or like in SPAZE, in usb?

P.P.S. I noted that files from folders like unistall disappear after a reboot...

Also, plugins, like SWAP Manager - just disappeared from Plugins...

This is all in 1.2 mod by Darkman.

Is it auto-cleaner or...?

For me, it's working fine. I have /usr folder in /media/usb and /media/FlashExpander. I haven't uninstalled previous version. Installed ipk without uninstall anything.

Ahora ya me sale bien la info con el comando df -h. Gracias dark!!!!

Bajate de nuevo el .ipk 0.13-r4 que le he hecho unas modificaciones.

Haz lo siguiente:

- Instala el .ipk que has bajado ahora (0.13-r4)
- Desinstala el .ipk 0.13-r4 (con esto borra todo lo que hay del flashexpander, incluido versiones viejas).
- Reinicia el AZBox
- Verás que ya no hay nada del flashexpander ejecutandose ni como residuo.
- Instala de nuevo el .ipk 0.13-r4 y reinicia GUI.
- Activa el FlashExtender y sigue los pasos que te indica.

En la próxima revisión miraré de añadirle comprobaciones de si existe el archivo que lo elimine y si no existe pues que no haga nada. Ahora esta hecho de manera rápida, pero funciona bien. Solo que si no existe algo al desinstalar da un error de que esa acción no se ha podido realizar.

Pero funcionar funciona bien, falta añadirle los condicionales de los chequeos.

No hace falta, cuando quieras desinstalar el FlashExpander te lo borrará todo con el último retoque que le he dado.

Es posible que en la desinstalación te diga que algo no ha podido hacerlo eso es porque el archivo ha sido borrado antes de recibir ese comando.

Cuando tenga un rato miraré de ponerle condicionales a la desinstalación para que no os dé el mensaje de que no ha podido realizar alguna instrucción.

Ahora está dijeramos hecho que si lo desinstala borra todos los archivos que deja el FlashExpander instalados, y si se ha borrado un archivo antes de recibir los comandos del postrm pues sale el mensaje de error al hacer x tarea. Pero eso no quiere decir que falle, solo que no ha podido realizarla porque ya se ha hecho previamente. Esas cosas es la que tengo que fijar cuando tenga un ratillo, que ahora toy probando otras cosas y tambien con la calor me chafa bastante.

That means not very much works properly, I'm afraid...

Moreover, I can't add any more plugins etc.

So, it is back to the drawing board for me!

I think I must kill the "automatic cleaner"!

It seems to me it is doing the damage!

I will try the latest RTi now and see...

But I can hardly wait for SPAZE!

I can see it becoming GREAT!

Puede que haya enlaces símbolicos y no sean los archivos sino enlaces...

Si sale duplicado en los dos laos ten encuenta ke es como un espejo, pero veras como no aumenta el espacio ocupado nada mas ke en el usb y si kitas este ya no salen el /usr.

Prueba antes de ejecutar el flashexpander por telnet desactiva el swap con swapoff -a
te lo digo porque a mi tambien me daba problemas al crearlo con el swap activo, lo desactive y perfect a la primera.

yo tengo una dom de 4 gigas y quisiera saber si en vez de hacer esto con un usb se podria aprovechar la misma dom, a lo mejor estoy diciendo una tonteria jejeje

Estaría bien que también permitiera instalarlo en la propia dom. En mi caso con una dom de 2 gb, solo me aparece el hdd interno y por supuesto si tengo un usb puesto, pero no aparece la dom. Si no me equivoco hay una partición llamada /media/cf, que esta vacia y solo contiene una carpeta lost+found, con el espacio restante de la dom y sería interesante que permitiera instalarlo ahí.

You see, when I was editing fstab, according to Manolito's help, the first message in Telenet I would get would be something like "cf not reachable/available" or words to that or similar effect... I wonder what is that all about?

Come to think of it, regarding the announcements made about SPAZE 2 and its new toys by Darkmantk, it would be REALLY nice to see your new application to programme the E2 into the Flash according to our individual needs - SAFELY, unlike the AZUp! So we could, for instance, maybe shrink some partitions like that one, containing the cf part and enlarge some others, like SWAP? Would there be a possibility of safe and easy way of enlarging SWAP partition on the DOM, by any chance, at the expense of cf partition?

Add to that Flash Expander, to move the /usr folder to the USB stick, and we don't have to worry about space limitations...

I can hardly wait for new, tested and fully functional SPAZE 2, guys!

In fact my cf folder is empty... But L+F is in Flash Expander folder, as well as above it...

And this, as you have already see, is what my Flash Expander folder looks like...

I.e. nothing much in my usb/usr folder... Definitely not what should be there, that is all in Flash Expander folder...

- Ahora debe detectar los HDD internos y dejarnos aplicar el FlashExpander en ellos.
- Corregido el problema de la ejecución del script de inicio.

Silly Billy, me!!! I think I misunderstood Darkman's intention, with his re-coding of F. E.

This plugin, redesigned by Darkman, behaves slightly differently to the original one. But it still works!

What I realised testing the PB VX E2 is that it appropriates a USB stick, so better not even try to put anything (SWAP, picons, EPG, subtitles) there, i.e. to /media/usb/ - like in F.E. r. 1!!!

Instead, in F. E. r. 4, all of those things we want on a USB stick will be on a USB stick even if we put them to /media/flashexpander/...

The fact you can not see /usr folder in /media/usb folder does not matter! It is nevertheless there - but in media/FlashExpander!

Sure, /usr folder goes to the USB stick. But in the process most, if not all, of the USB stick will be appropriated by F.E!

So, there will not be sufficient space for picons, EPG etc. - if you try to put them to /usb...

But if you choose as I just explained - to /media/FlashExpander - no problem!B)

A ver yo no he readaptado el plugin.

Simplemente quité el parametro donde daba el error al detectar la DOM como HDD.

Si el plugin no trabaja como debe, es cosa del plugin en si porque no he modificado nada más que quitar un or de un if donde estaba el fallo de la DOM. Lo demás es absolutamente lo mismo.

Recordad que es un plugin realizado para Dreambox.

Por cierto.

En la próxima versión ya está corregido lo de la DOM, el plugin es el original agregado un archivo adicional que permite que la DOM ya trabaje.
