Hi alls...

I mainly ask the coders of Forum....

My H9.2H equipped by OpenSpa last version (2020 dec.) hangs at the beginning of bootvideo (.mp4 file).

When booting starts, i see the splash, then i only hear the first 4-5 seconds of the .mp4 file, but always on black screen ... then nothing more.

The boot blocks and I have to switch the receiver off and on again, trying two-three-four -... times, until the boot video starts properly and the image is loaded regularly.

I tried everything: update gstreamer, change bootvideo file, change bootvideo plugin ... nothing at all.

If I run the mp4 file used (not only a file, but many) for the bootvideo with the image started, from the media player, the video runs regularly.

Is it possible that the Zgemma drivers do not have the mp4 codecs that allow to stream video files at boot?

If it's necessary, i can attach (how do it??) (a) extract of the debug file with evidence of the error, (b) screenshot of the videoboot script execution console, obtained with the image started and (c) script of the bootvideo plugin.

Thank's in advance.

Hello saragusa ...
I'm curious why the bootvideo isn't working for you.
Not so long ago I prepared a bootvideo to a friend about his son in a deco
just like yours and it worked great and smooth.
from what you say it doesn't seem to be a codec or gt problem either.

The boot blocks and I have to switch the receiver off and on again, trying two-three-four -... times, until the boot video starts properly and the image is loaded regularly.

If you want we can test from a clean installation.
I will give you an ipk with a bootvideo for you to try.

Info bootvideo:
Código:
General : botvideo.mp4
Format : MPEG-4 at 5 714 kb/s
Length : 8.81 MiB for 12 s 940 ms
Video #0 : AVC at 6 359 kb/s
Aspect : 1920 x 1080 (1.778) at 25.000 fps
Audio #0 : AAC at 165 kb/s
Infos : 2 channels, 48.0 kHz

download:
bootvideo

put the ipk inside / var / volatile / tmp
from your favorite console write this

opkg install --force-overwrite /tmp/*.ipk

reboot

To uninstall the bootvideo:

opkg remove bootvideo-openspa-flash - 1.0

No way. Always the same problem ... Sometimes it starts and sometimes you hear the first notes (on a black screen) and the boot stops. It is as if the playback of the bootvideo does not start in sync with the audio, and whenever the "video part" does not start together with the "audio part", the boot blocks. It is as if a conflict is created and the image loading is blocked...

I take it you have a clean installation right?

No. I did a quick test on the already installed image I have on the deco. I have Openspa plugins and some other basic plugins for picons, settings and some panels ..

The problem is only with first H9 models. Why? We don't know, but it's not a videologo issue, the problem may be due to the playback at boot.

make a backup of all your plugins install a fresh image from scratch. Then I installed the ipk.

Then... Multiple tests performed, all with negative results.

1) Bootvideo from nandsim, clean image, only Hannibal settings installed. Hisilicon Plugin Service (H9.2H processor) not activated. Outcome: it always crashes. It was necessary to reflash;

2) Bootvideo from nandsim, completely clean image, without settings. Hisilicon Plugin Service (H9.2H processor) activated. Outcome: it always crashes. It was necessary to reflash.

Well from what looks like it doesn't work with the gt, let's try the eplayer5.
I'm going to prepare you an ipk with the eplayer5.

When I have it ready I'll leave it here.

1) delete the boot video and the script.

To uninstall the bootvideo:
Código:
opkg remove bootvideo-openspa-flash - 1.0

2) install the ipk with the eplayer5 .

bootvideo-test_1.2_all.ipk

Código:
opkg install --force-overwrite /tmp/*.ipk

These are the directories where the installed files of the ipk are hosted
in case you want to delete them.
Código:
opkg remove bootvideo-test - 1.2

/usr/bin/eplayer5

/usr/share/bootvideo.mp4

/usr/share/bootlogo.mvi

/etc/init.d/bootlogo

/etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh

/etc/init.d/bootvideo

Being the main Chipset, ARM processor may crash with the eplayer5
Lucky friend. ;)

Nothing to do with eplayer5 either...☹️
When the boot starts, the splash, bootvideo.mvi, black screen, bootvideo.mvi appear in succession and it completes the loading of the image regularly. The boot does not hang, but bootvideo.mp4 is not displayed. However, if I launch bootvideo.mp4 from usr / share, it runs smoothly...

the scrip may be the problem the "gst-launch-1.0" has several variants of audio video execution.
Código:
test -x $SHOWIFRAME || exit 0

gst-launch-1.0 playbin uri=file:///usr/share/videologo/bootvideo.mp4

case "$1" in
I will prepare some ipk with different scripts for you to test them.
I'll put it here for you to try give me a little time.
